Rosemary Wells takes the reader through Abe Lincoln’s life told by his sons Tad and Willie. The book begins before Lincoln had ever decided to run for president.  The boys describe the relationship their family had.  Willie gets to go on his first train ride with his dad.  There in Chicago is when Lincoln decided to run for president.  The book describes all of the adventures with their dad through his presidency.

N.   Usage with students
This book could be used during election time to compare how the current presidents children relate to Willie and Tad. It could be used to research what happened to the boys after Lincoln.  There are many different research activities that could be used with this book.
